2 More Projects!

Before I get into today's post, just a quick reminder to enter my giveaway by leaving a comment on post #200 (just scroll down a bit to find it). I have two fun prizes on offer! I'd also really appreciate if you became a follower of my blog - I just added the function to my blog the other day and am so far feeling unloved!!! LOL!

Anyway, I have been working on a little OTP over the last few days. I started on it at the crop night I went to on Friday and finished it yesterday. I picked up the frame from Ikea a long while back and was inspired to alter it using Dear Lizzy products for this week's challenge at the Studio. Kelly challenged us to use two or more Thickers Accents on a project. Here's my entry, using a fave pic of mine of the kiddos together;

Pure Bliss Frame
Frame - Ikea, Patterned paper - American Crafts, Embossing folder - ProvoCraft, Alphas - American Crafts, Rub-ons - American Crafts, Chipboard shapes - American Crafts, Buttons - American Crafts, Embroidery thread - DMC, Ribbon - unknown.

James was watching Iron Man last night. It wasn't too bad but I wasn't really into it so I made a card at my desk while watching bits and pieces of the movie. This card is for this weeks challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog which is to create a Friends-themed project;

Friendship Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Image - Cosmo Cricket, Ribbon - unknown, Embroidery thread - DMC, Stickers - Cosmo Cricket.

The inside of the card reads; "We make a great pear!" LOL! Love punny sentiments!

My best friend is here visiting from Melbourne at the moment. We had a fun day together today - we went to see Shrek 4 with Tilly in the morning then went for a walk with both the kids this arvo. Here's a pic I took of them all together;

Tara returns home tomorrow. I wish she was staying!!!

Well, that's it for me! Have a good night!

Thank You Miss Mallon!!!

My friend and co-worker, Sandie, so graciously took up my request for a quick photography session today at the park nearby work. I have been requested to do an artist profile for Cardmaking, Stamping, and Papercraft, but I have no nice photos of myself... you know how it goes, always behind the camera! Until now! Here are my two fave shots;

Apart from the fact I am quite obviously a bit overweight (LOL!), I really like these photos! They are perfect! Thank you so much Sandie!!! Mwah!!!

I'd love to know which piccie is your fave... leave me a comment and let me know!

Back tomorrow with an OTP to share!

Post #200!!!

... and it's gonna be a long one!

But first thing is first... today is up there with one of the best days ever because in the mail arrived the newest issue of Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft... AND ONE OF MY CARDS IS ON THE COVER!!! (insert excited sqealing and jumping up and down!!!) Making a cover has been number one on my scrappy to do list since I started submitting to magazines about 2 years ago, and thanks to Emily, it has become a reality! I feel so honoured and just a tad rockstar having my work there for all to see. It is so awesome!!! Here's it is;

My card is the one top right! I have 5 cards in this issue; one set of three (including the one on the cover) and two cards for the Stamper's Challenge. Yippee!!!

I've had quite the run of luck lately and this cover is the icing on the cake! I have recently won three giveaways including one from the Paper Trunk blog hop that I posted about here a little while back. So I figure it is time to return the love and have a giveaway here for you all to enjoy! And what better occasion than my blog's 200th post!

There will be two prizes in total. One winner will receive this vintage pack of goodies;

... and another will win this bright pack of goodies;

All I ask in return is that you become a follower and leave a comment on this post by the end of next fortnight, Sunday 11th July. Don't be afriad to let me know which prize you'd like most! I'll announce the winners soon after.

Now to share some of my recent creations. First up is my entry for the Embellish Magazine Babies Colour Challenge which is to create a baby-themed card using the colours from the following polaroids;

Here's my card;

Fresh From Heaven Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Pink Paislee, Doily - Little Yellow Bicycle, Die-cut - unknown; Ribbon - Button - craft supply, Stamp - American Crafts, Ink - Tsukineko, Pearls - Kaiser, Machine thread - craft supply.

I finished this layout a couple of days ago but had not yet got a chance to post it here. I have used the May Ticklez kit from Scrapz for this one;

So Beautiful Layout
Patterned paper - Pink Paislee, The Girl's Paperie, Little Yellow Bicycle, Alphas - Adornit/Carolee's Creations, Ticket - My Mind's Eye, Butterfly sticker - Jenni Bowlin, Punch - Martha Stewart, Word strip - Creative Scraps, Ribbon - unknown, Pearl trim - unknown, Pen - Stampin' Up!, Machine thread - craft supply.

Included in the kit was a length of pearl trim that I was a bit stumped on what to do with it. If you look closely at my layout, you will see that I cut a bit of it up into tiny peices to create 'bodies' for my butterfly embellishments!

I think that just about wraps it up for today. I best be off now to ready myself for a crop night that I'm attending tonight. Should be fun... and hopefully I don't chat to much so I'll have something to show you in my next post!

Have a great weekend!

The Clear Out Continues!!!

I've just added a few more items to ebay;

Mixed lot of die-cuts inc MME, BG, and K&Co
Fancy Pants Sweet Spring Die-cuts
Kaszazz Angel Wings Stamp
7 Gypsies 97% Complete Tags - Large

The stamp is especially cool - it RRPs for $15 so grab yourself a bargain!

Teeny Tiny Toes to Ticklez!

Last night, while my partner was out celebrating his birthday (read: getting really really drunk! LOL!) I scrapped a layout and finshed off a card. Yep, my life is pretty exciting!!! LOL!

I picked up a gorgeous piece of Girl's Paperie patterned paper the other day. It's from the On Holiday collection and is covered with tonnes of little bunting flags ready to cut up. I am a huge fan of the banner trend that has been so popular lately, but hadn't yet had the chance to incorporate it into a project... until now! I used this gorgeous patterned paper to create two banners on this page of Ollie at one month;

Teeny Tiny Toes Layout
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - The Girl's Paperie, Alphas - Cosmo Cricket, Little Yellow Bicycle, Word stickers - Cosmo Cricket, Paint - Making Memories, Pen - Uniball Signo.

In addition to the banners, I incorporated another technique into this layout - scraping paint across the page with an old plastic bank card. I discovered this technique on the Studio Calico blog in a little tutorial posted by Tina Aszmus a while back.

This layout has been made with this month's challenge at Kraft It Up! in mind - use Kraft and create a minimalist layout. Easy for me... I love Kraft and minimalist is my go-to style!!!

I have made another card using the May Ticklez kit;

Hey Cupcake Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Jillibean Soup, Little Yellow Bicycle, Alphas - Adornit/Carolee's Creations, Rub-on - Imaginisce, Image - Crafty Secrets, Ribbon - unknown, Chipboard heart - American Crafts, Brads - American Crafts, Dimensional adhesive - Ranger, Kit - May Ticklez from Scrapz.Biz.

I added a few extras to this card... just couldn't go without some brads and a chippie heart.

I have just purchased another two packs of the Imaginisce rub-ons I used here. They are seriously the best rub-ons ever created!!! I have used them on so many projects already and cannot see myself tiring of them anytime soon!

Anyway, I think that's it for today.

And just a heads up... my 200th post is coming up soon, so I might just be doing a giveaway in the coming week or so. Hint hint. Wink wink!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Ticklez Card!

Just a quick post today to share a card I've made using the May Ticklez kit from Scrapz;

Party Girl Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - On the Wings of a Dream, Fancy Pants Designs, Jillibean Soup, Image and sentiment - Heartwarming Vintage, Punch - Christina Re, Ink - Tsukineko, Ribbon - unknown, Button - craft supply, Embroidery thread - DMC, Machine thread - craft supply.

Just as I did with my layout from yesterday, I have added a couple of extra embellishments to my card after uploading to Scrapz. The ribbon and button were not part of the kit, but I felt the card really needed them to look finished.

Thanks for dropping by! While you're here, why not check out the items I have for sale on ebay. They are listed in the previous posts.

Ticklez and More!

I am currently working with the May Ticklez kit and have just completed my first layout using its' contents. Here it is;

Matilda's First Haircut Layout
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Fancy Pants Designs, Little Yellow Bicycle, 3 Bugs in a Rug, Punch - Stampin' Up!, Alphas - Basic Grey, Jewellery tag - unknown, Brads - Basic Grey, FTI, Stamp - American Crafts, Ink - Tsukineko, Embossing powder - Stampin' Up!, Machine thread - craft supply, Kit - May Ticklez kit from Scrapz.Biz.

The photo I have used for this page was taken as Tilly's first lock of hair was cut. I decided to create a little pocket alongside the photo in which to store that very lock of hair! To do so, i simply machine stitched around 3 edges of a pp block. I am yet to actually dig out said lock from my daughter's box of memorabilia... just goes to show how much better it will be to have it in my scrapbook where it can be seen more easily.

The layout you see here is slightly different to the one that I uploaded at Scrapz. the rules for the Ticklez kit is that you se only what is in the kit, with the exception of paint, ink, stitching, alphas and cardstock. Normally I struggle with this and always find myself adding to my card or layout as I work. So I decided to take a pic before I added my finishing touches so that I could still enter it. Here's the 'original';

I scraplifted the basic design for this layout from a layout I found in the Studio Calico gallery. You can find allieh's layout here.

I have just listed another three items on ebay. They are;
K&Company Ancestry.com Flowers Grand Adhesions
Making Memories Sheer Frame - Flowers
Daisy D's Butterfly Wings Cardstock Stickers

Simply click on the link to take you to where you can bid.

Happy shopping!!!

A Challenging Challenge!!!

There were so many challenges this week that I wanted to play along with this week, so instead of doing each individually, I thought I'd challenge myself to incorporate 4 challenges into one card!!! It was tricky, but here's what I created;

It's A Boy Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Making Memories, My Mind's Eye, Cosmo Cricket, Punch - Stampin' Up!, Raffia - unknown, Flower - Prima, Button - craft supply, Machine thread - craft supply.

Ok... so how does this single card fit 4 challenges?!...

1. Card Positioning Systems - Sketch 170 (check! I used this week's sketch!).
2. Simon Says Stamp - use 1 image, 2 pps, and 3 different types of embellishment (check!).
3. Caardvarks - use stamps, and wet/dry embossing (check! my sentiment is stamped and embossed with white embossing powder).
4. Scrapz.Biz - create a monochromatic card (check!)

See... a challenging challenge!!! You should try it some time! It gets you thinking!!!

In other news, my little boy has started to pull himself up onto his knees in preparation to crawl!!! He has commando crawled for some time now, but I am elated that he might just crawl properly one of these days! Check it out;

Yippee!!!

Well, that's it for now. Today I'm going to watch the Saints smash the Dockers at Sbi Oval!!! I am so excited! I'm kid-free AND as I am a member this year I get to sit with other members and not feel like the only person barracking for the Saints! LOL! It's gonna be so much fun!!!

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Moxie Fab!!!

I made this card a few weeks back but am re-posting it here as I am entering it into Moxie Fab World's "I Want to Ride My Bicycle" Challenge;

Missing You
Cardstock - Bazzill, Image - The Graphics Fairy, Rub-on - Karen Foster, Twine - craft supply, Brads - FTI.

While I'm here and blogging, just wanted to say a big thank you to Sheree who chose my Family Baby Stats mini album as the winner of the May Monthly Challenge! I was so over the moon when I found out the fantastic news earlier today! I've actually had quite the run of luck lately... last week I also won the entire brand new Rockabilly line from Paper Trunk for commenting during their blog hop. Woo hoo!!! Can't wait til it arrives so I can dig into it - it's a really exciting collection!

Oh, and before I go, I am searching for someone who would like to join me in placing an order with Papertrey Ink. Their postage is astronomical, but would work out considerably cheaper if shared between two or more people. There are so many great stamps available in their store that I have been dying to get my hands on!!! If you think you'd be interested in joining me, just leave a comment here and I'll contact you with details.

Well, that's it for today. Should be back again soon with some Ticklez kit projects!

Noteworthy Challenge #29!

For this week's Noteworthy challenge at Scrapz.Biz, Sheree asked us to create a card that incorporated a sun into the design. I really struggled with this challenge... I had plenty of sun-themed product but I just couldn't get any of it to work. I'm mostly happy with how this card eventually turned out. I hope you like it too! Here it is;

Oh So Happy Birthday to You! Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket, Label sticker - October Afternoon, Alpha stickers - Sassafras Lass, Rub-ons - Imaginisce, Embroidery thread - DMC, Machine thread - craft supply.

Have an oh so happy day!!!

Hoo's the Little Cutie?!!

As I mentioned yesterday, Tilly gave herself a haircut! Thought you might like to see the damage! This photo was taken about 2 weeks ago when we made a scarecrow for our vegie patch;

Please note the gorgeous curly and LONG blonde hair!!!

And this is a photo I took this morning;

Please note the not-so-gorgeous SHORT blonde hair! Grr!!! There's no hiding this!

I have a card to share, but before I do that, I thought I'd share the fun craft activity Tilly and I did together this morning. She has been collecting toilet rolls for quite a while now. In fact, we've been going through A LOT of toilet paper lately... me thinks a certain someone has discovered that if she uses a bit extra and finishes off the roll she can add another cardboard roll to her stash! LOL! Here's what we made;

She now has 4 cute little paper dolls to play with in her doll's house! She loves them - she's playing with them as I type!!!

Oh... and that reminds me... she did a layout a couple of weeks back. She enjoyed learning how to stencil on her background paper, and had a blast going crazy with the beach-themed stickers!!!

Last but not least, is my card;

Hoo's the Little Cutie??? Card
Cardstcok - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Crate Paper, Die-cuts - Crate Paper, Chipboard - Collections, Button - unknown, Embroidery thread - DMC, Paint - Making Memories, Twine - craft supply, Ink - Tsukineko, Machine thread - craft supply.

I have had the bits sitting around for this card forever. I had originally planned to make this card for a sketch challenge at Papercrafts Connection, but that deadline has been and gone a month or so ago!!! I reckon I missed it hey?!! I don't expect this card will be published (I'm not really 100% happy with it) so please enjoy actually seeing a card on my blog! Hehehe!!! I feel so terrible... my blog's not much to look at lately.

Well, I think that just about sums it up for now. I will be back later today to post another card that I'm almost done making. 'See' you then!

Top Secret!!!

Next Tuesday is my partner's birthday. Surprisingly, instead of leaving it to the last minute, I set about creating his birthday card last night! The card I created isn't really a birthday card as such, but I know he'll appreciate it as it is personalised and reflects his favourite hobby. Here it is (ETA - this card was picked up for pub as I was finishing up writing this post, so please enjoy my out for publication image instead!!! LOL!);

100% Surfer Style Birthday Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Prima, Pink Paislee, My Mind's Eye, Rub-ons - My Mind's Eye, Twine - craft supply, Machine thread - craft supply.

Masculine cards can sometimes be tricky to create, but I find that simple is best, and incorporating the recipient's hobby or other interests like favourite colours, etc, is a sure fire way to ensure that they love their card!

Now I've just got to hide his card and keep it top secret til next week!!!

Completely changing the topic... I woke this morning from a glorious sleep in to find my daughter had cut all the beautiful curly blonde hair from the right side of her head!!! It is now no more than 10cm long, whereas the other side is past her shoulders. She claims she was practising cutting her hair!!! Oh my... what a disaster!!! But I guess every kid has to do it at some stage, right?! Please tell me I'm not the only mother who regrets having slept in!!!

Back again soon, thanks for visiting!

Another Tag!

I made yet another tag last night, this time with stamping onto acetate, distressing, and stitching;

Happy Anniversary Tag
Tag - BumbleBee Crafts, Patterned paper - Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Stamp - Pink Paislee, Ink - Tsukineko, Acetate - waste from a Fancy Pants transparency, Bling - Kaiser, Rub-on - Basic Grey, Black machine thread - craft supply.

I hope you like it!

Thanks for dropping by!

One, Two, Three!!!

I decided to add to the 1st birthday card I made last week and create a set of 3 similar cards using Sass Lass' Cherry Delicious line. Here are my additional cards;

So Sweet Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Sassafras Lass, Glimmer spray - Tattered Angels, Stickers - Sassafras Lass (alphas, flower), October Afternoon (label), Twine - Wilton, Button - craft supply, Lace trim - unknown.

Miss You Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Sassafras Lass, Glimmer spray - Tattered Angels, Stickers - Sassafras Lass (alphas, scallop outline), October Afternoon (label), Twine - Wilton, Button - craft supply, Lace trim - unknown.

I also made a tag the other night. I used my new favourite paint technique (which is actually a really old technique but I've only just discovered how fun it is!!!) which basically involves scraping various colours of paint across cardstock with the edge of an old plastic card...

Getaway Tag
Tag - BumbleBee Crafts, Paint - Making Memories, Doily - Little Yellow Bicycle, Stamp - On the Wings of a Dream, Ink - Tsukineko, Embossing Powder - Tim Holtz, Rub-on - Scenic Route, Sticker - October Afternoon, Tape - Pink Paislee, Buttons - craft supply, Embroidery thread - DMC, Staples - Making Memories, Paperclip - unknown.

Just noticed I have gone all shabby with my creations these last few days! Lots of layering and 'rough' looking details, etc. Wonder how long I can keep it up til CAS Chloe returns!!! LOL!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Bye for now!!!

American Crafts Scraplift Week Entry!

Well, I didn't win the American Crafts albums that I so badly hoped to win last week. Boo hoo!!! Oh well, will just have to make do with the ones I have on layby. Pretty sure I'll cope!!! LOL!

This week at the Studio, the challenge is to scraplift any DT project that has been posted on the Studio blog. I chose to scraplift a great card made by Melanie Louette.

Here is original;

... and here is my scraplift;

Friendships Sympathy Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - American Crafts, Rub-on - American Crafts, Embossing folder - ProvoCraft, Machine thread - craft supply, Font - Monotype Corsiva.

I scraplifted Melanie's basic design, her use of the Botanique line, the way she used just one embellishment and put focus on the sentiment, and I debossed the lower portion of the cream panel just as she embossed the lower portion of hers. Of course, I've put a bit of my own creative spin on it too. What do you think? You like?

Ok so that's 3 posts in one day!!! I shall go and leave y'all alone now!!!

Have a great night!

Layer Upon Layer!!!

... that's probably how I should be dressing these days given the temps have dropped, but much to my bosses' shock (Hi Jord!!!) I just keep on dressing like it's still Summertime! I don't really feel the cold... but I should probably put everyone out of their misery and buy a jumper!!! LOL!

But none of that is the reason for my post today... I'm acually here to share a fun little card I made Wednesday night for last week's Noteworthy challenge at Scrapz, which was to create a card with a decorative edge. Here it is;

1st Birthday Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Sassafras Lass, Alphas - Sassafras Lass, Stickers - Sassafras Lass (cloud outline), October Afternoon (label), Glimmer spray - Tattered Angels, Trim - unknown, Baker's twine - Wilton, Button - Basic Grey, Embroidery thread - DMC.

As my post's title implies, this card is quite layered, which is something I haven't done much of for a while. The decorative edge was achieved by tracing the waste from a scallop-edged border sticker onto the cardstock, then hand-cutting it before folding the card to create my card blank. I also used the waste from another sticker to create my cloud embellishment.

Thanks for popping by!!!

A Giveaway!!!

Pop on over to Jodie's blog to enter her current giveaway. Goodluck!!!

Rockabilly!!!

What does this...

... this...

... and this...

... all have in common? Check out this Paper Trunk blog post NOW to find out!!! It might just be worth your while!!!

May Monthly Challenge!

I may have left it to the very last minute, but I did manage to complete this month's Monthly Challenge at Scrapz. For May, the challenge was set by Sheree. She had done up instructions for a gorgeous fabric mini album and invited us to create our own. I followed her lead and made mine into a baby stats mini book. I think this will be a really fun reference for our family in the coming years, and will ensure these little details are never forgotten.

I very nearly didn't participate in the challenge because it involved sewing and I kinds suck at sewing, but there were no major disasters aside from me using too small a stitch for sewing in the pages... my first attempt resulted in perfectly perforated pages because the holes were too close together!!! LOL! See told you I suck!!! LOL!

Anyway, here it is (in my very first photo collage!!!);

Our Family's Baby Stats Mini Album
Fabric, felt - unknown, Cardstock - bazzill, Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Epoxy stickers - Making Memories, Alphas - Kaiser (chipboard), October Afternoon (stickers), Die-cut - Sizzix, Buttons - Making Memories, Embroidery thread - DMC, Machine thread - craft supply, Font - Arial Narrow.

As you can see, I've not yet got around to getting the photos printed but I'll hopefully get around to adding them by the end of the week. Believe me, it's not such a bad thing that you didn't get to see my baby photo... I could really do without the public humiliation. I really don't see how my Mum thought I was a cute baby!!! LOL!

Thanks for popping by!
