It's Official...

I am the Biggest Loser!!! I won the Biggest Loser category in Scrapz' latest comp. I am feeling much better for it, and I won a $15 voucher, too!!!

If you want to get in on all the fun at Scrapz.Biz, Heike is holding another comp, starting 3rd February. It is a stamping based challenge centred around Valentine's day. Check it out!!!

I made a quick card last night for the Weekly Noteworthy challenge at Scrapz. Sheree challenged us to make a card celebrating a new beginning using a hand-cut element. Here's my card;

I thought it would make a cute card for my daughter when she starts 3-year-old kindy next week.

Oh and FYI, I am selling another item on ebay. This time it is a great little magazine called Memory Makers magazine - GET ORGANIZED! It's all about organising your scrap space, and is packed full of ideas, tips, products, and pics of other people's scrap spaces. If you'd like to check it out, you can find it here.

That's it for now. I plan to get a bit of scrapping done over the next few days, so I'll be sure to be back soon to share what I have made.

Stay cool!!!

Happy Australia Day!!!

Happy Oz Day everyone, and Happy Birthday to my little bro who is turning 18 today!

We are off to the fireworks tonight after spending the afternoon with my brother and the morning chilling out at home. DH is having an Aussie Day get-together with some of his work mates which should be a lot of fun. What are your plans for the day? I hope you have a great day!

I just wanted to share a layout that I made the other day. It was the last project I managed to complete for the Biggest Loser comp. In the end I completed all of the Lose It and Move It challenges, and 11 of the 17 Use It challenges!!! Needless to say, my stash is now organised and rejuvinated!!!

Anyway, here's my layout (sorry for the crappy photo!);

It's a mix and mash of October Afternoon stuff and Sass Lass, and was actually a scraplift of one of my earlier layouts of Matilda. I am surprised how different the layouts turned out despite sharing the same basic design. It had never occured to me to scraplift myself but I like how easy it is to re-use a design you've already spent forever deciding upon. I think I'll do it again!

Well, I am off now to get ready for another awesome Australia Day! Have a good one!!!

Number 7!!!

I did it! 7 days of blogging! Which means 7 days of creating as Vanessa pointed out! Pretty pleased to have kept so up-to-date on my blog. I hope you have enjoyed it also.

Today I am sharing a card that I whipped up this morning. Again, this was made for Scrapz' BL comp. For this challenge, we had to create a card that used punched, die-cut or embossed shapes. I chose to use the new Nestabilities die my Mother-Dearest got me for my birthday, together with a flower punched with an SU! punch and a leafy thing cut with a Sizzix die.

Surprise surprise... another baby card! I have babies on the brain at the moment because i am excitedly awaiting the arrival of my first niece or nephew. She or he could arrive any day now!!!

Tonight, Tilly and I are off to a Mother and Child scrap night at our LSS. Should be fun!!! Tilly has her little bag packed. She's just having a kip now so that she can scrap til late. We cannot wait!

Once again I hope you have enjoyed my 7 days of updates. I can't promise it will happen again any time soon, but at least we now know it's possible! LOL!

Happy scrapping!!!

Shades of Blue!

It's a bit of a blue post today, not in the sad kinda way, but in the colour kinda way!

First up is a card I have created for Challenge 9 in Scrapz' Biggest Loser comp. Jen asked us to create a layout or card that used some sort of resist technique to alter pp. I used clear embossing powder to emboss alpha stamps on cream coloured BG pp then ran over it with a green ink. After I buffed away the ink from the embossed areas, I was left with cute alphas for a baby card. Here's my card;

I pretty much suck at the whole resist thing! Almost as bad as I am at actually resisting, you know like when all the CHA stuff hits Oz soon! LOL!

Next up is a layout. Again, this was made for the BL comp. Sheree challenged us to make a layout using scraps in a patchwork effect. I used blue scraps from October Afternoon's Detours line to create this layout, plus lots of stitching... which surprisingly is actually straight! Here's my layout;

I am totally in love with this layout! Isn't that teeny tiny sleeping bubby just so sweet?!

Well, that concludes post 6 of 7! Back tomorrow!!!

5 in a Row!!!

... blog posts that is! I amaze myself sometimes!!! LOL!

Today I am sharing a super quick card that I have made using some great products from American Crafts, which just so happen to be one of my fave brands atm. I mean, have you seen their new releases? My absolute fave is Dear Lizzy, which is a collaboration between American Crafts and Elizabeth Kartchner (my scrapping idol!). I cannot wait til these gorgeous products hit stores in Oz!

So, here is the card that I have created for the current MiniMarks challenge over at the Studio blog;

I have used American Crafts Blue Skies MiniMarks (tickled pink word) and American Crafts IM Accents MiniMarks (hearts) to fulfil the "use two MiniMarks" requirement of the challenge, plus an AC House chipboard heart.
Quick and simple, but really cute! I plan to use this card to celebrate the arrival of my SIL's baby... if I am right and it turns out to be a baby girl!!! Otherwise it might not suit! LOL!

I have also started on a LO today but it needs a few more touches so I'll be back tomorrow to share that one. Let's see if I can make it one week with a daily post?! LOL!

Happy Wednesday to you!

Officially Organised!

This morning I finished the last of the Move It challenges from the Biggest Loser comp at Scrapz! YAY! That means my scrap space is clean, tidy, and organised from top to bottom! My mission now is to keep it that way!!!

I just finished making a little journal for one of the Lose It challenges. Rach asked us to alter a notebook to use as a food diary. Here's mine;

I will probably end up using mine to write snippets of journalling in for my layouts as opposed to documenting my food intake as I already have a Weight Watchers journal that I use for that purpose.

FYI, I have used Making Memories Just Chillin' pp scraps to cover my notebook. This particular design is one of my fave MM pps. Love that it's green and dotty AND flourishy! All my faves in one piece of paper!!!

Have a great week!

Back Again!

Seems like only yesterday I updated my blog... hang on... it was!!! What is going on? I'm actually keeping my blog up-to-date! Or maybe it's just that I'm doing lots of creating. Either way, it's a good thing.

So last night, in just a few hours, I created a layout. It was all done, minus the photos and journalling, by the time I tucked myself into bed at about 10.30pm. "So what?" I hear you say... well a layout in less than a week is good for me, let alone a night! I reckon I might just be getting this 'committing' thing down pat (Jordie, you know what I'm talking about! LOL!)

So here it is...

I love these photos. They were taken the very first time Ollie swam at the beach. Well, technically it was just a dingle, but he loved it all the same.

You have probably noticed I'm into using glimmer sprays atm. I seem to work more efficiently when I use them. Probably cos they make everything messy which makes the whole creative process a bit more relaxed and lots more fun!!! I'm not particularly good at using them, but practice makes perfect!

Coincidentally, I have entered this layout into Scrap Pile's Lazy Days of Summer comp because my use of beach pics and paint (glimmer spray) qualifies for this weeks criteria! I must be a mind-reader! LOL!

Anyway, that's enough from me for today. Happy scrapping!!!

A Quick Share!

Just a quick post to share a card that I started last night and finished off this morning...

I have used Twiddleybitz chipboard both as an embellishment and as a mask for the glimmer spray. Love the effect of glimmer spray on Bazzill Bling... soooo shiny!

Also, here's a pic of my clean, tidy, and organised scrap area... thanks to the Biggest Loser Missions at Scrapz, it's never looked better!!!

I hope you have a lovely, relaxing Sunday!

I'm a Big Loser!

Yep, you read right! I am participating in The Biggest Loser competition over at Scrapz Biz atm. It is in its last few days, which is why I can proudly proclaim that I am a big loser - I have ditched some of my unwanted stash, I have used some of my scraps and older products, I have organised my scrapping area, I have been exercising, and I have been focusing on making healthy choices everyday. Heck, I reckon I might have even actually lost some weight too!!! It has been so much fun and very inspiring being a part of this competition.

Here are a few of the things that I have created for the Use It part of the comp;

I have also completed my layout for Scrapbook Creations and posted it off to Kim for the Sketch Challenge feature. It will be in issue 78, so make sure you check it out (and remind me when you see it cos I'll most likely forget! LOL!)

I hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend, full of scrappy fun!

Til next time...

Happy Birthday...

TO ME!!!!! Yay! Today is my 24th birthday!

I celebrated my birthday yesterday with McDonald's breakfast, a visit from Mum and Dad, and my sister and bro in the morning, then lunch with DH, DD, and DS, and a trip to the beach in the arvo. I also went out for dinner with my girlfriends on Saturday night, which was lots of fun!!!

Today is pretty much a write off... DH is having day surgery, plus tomorrow we are off to Kalgoorlie to visit my sister in law so I'll spend much of today organising for that. My sister in law is very pregnant and is suffering from high blood pressure so I thought it'd be nice for us to keep her company at home and do the bits and pieces around the house she's been ordered not to. I will also make lots of frozen meals for her while I'm there so she has quick and easy food on hand once bub arrives in about 7 weeks.

Finally, a quick share... a small gift box that I made as part of Scrapz.Biz's Biggest Loser comp, which is on until Jan 20;

Back again sometime after Sunday. Happy scrapping!!!

One Little Word...

You will probably be familiar with Ali Edwards' One Little Word concept. If not, you can read all about it here. Anyway, today I decided I too would choose a word for myself, as a means of summarising my hopes and dreams for 2010. Traditionally, I'd write a list of resolutions for the year, but as anyone would know, these resolutions almost never last beyond January 31st. For me, I believe a much more durable method is to approach each moment with a particular mind-set, an end goal, my one little word. This year, that word will be OPPORTUNITY. The definition of this word is a possibility due to a favourable combination of circumstances; chance for advancement, progress or profit. In other words, I hope to embrace the things I have and can have, pursue them, value them, and derive all that I can from them. This includes family, my hobby and my creativity, work, home, money, everything. I think reminding myself that each moment is an opportunity for something more will help me get the most out of 2010.

I encourage you to also choose for yourself one little word, and share it here. It could change your life!!!
