Sneeky peak!!!

The March Card kit is now available in the Pre Order Section of the Wicked Princesses store. Here's a sneak peak;

This AMAZING kit is priced at only $14.95. This includes all products shown, free project sheets, and access to the blog classroom. Pretty awesome value for money, huh?!

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my first DT kit (the March Card Kit) so I can begin creating in readiness for the Wicked Princesses gallery reveal on March 12th.

On the 27th of March, I will also be holding the very first Card Class in the online classroom of the Wicked Princesses blog. I will show participants how to create FOUR cards with this month's great kit. Like I said earlier, by purchasing a Wicked Princesses kit, you automatically receive access to the blog classroom. No further fees are required. So make sure you pre-order your kit NOW, and I'll see you in the classroom for lots of creative fun!

That's it for today. I'll be back shortly to share a (secret) project that I have been working on for Becky Fleck.

Lots to Share!

On Sunday, Mum and I got together for a paper-crafting session... and we were VERY productive!!!

Last week, I received the Mini November Full Tart kit from Just Johanna's Odd Bird Planet. Among other things, the kit contained several pieces of 6x6 cardstock. I had been at a loss as to what to use the cardstock for... that was until I realised if I cut them in half I could make cute 3x3 card blanks! So, on Sunday morning I divided the blanks into two identical lots, and asked Mum to join in my little challenge of making a set of mini cards using the card blanks, BG's Urban Prairie range of pp (which I had from the kit), and as few extra embellishments as possible. Here's the cards from my set;

I had time to make yet another card over the weekend, but this time it was a regular sized one. It's based on CPS sketch #102. Here it is;

The Secret's Out!!!

I am now ready to share the 'top secret' layout that I hinted at in a post I made a couple of weeks ago. In doing so, I also share my BIG news...

YEP!.. I'm pregnant! I am 8 weeks and due late September. This will be my second child, which means my little girl is going to be a big sister! I am itching to tell her all about the baby but I can't share it with her yet as she is only 2 and will more than likely not fully understand... well at least not until there's a belly to prove it! My DH and I are, needless to say, over the moon to have another member to or family on its way. I have been less than impressed, however, with the horrible morning sickness I have been dealt- I had none with my first child so it seems that I am getting a bit of payback for gloating about that this time around! I've had to take time off work to rest and feel sorry for myself, but on Saturday I returned to work and to many very excited friends. It feels good being back at work though it is awfully tiring standing up etc all day. Hopefully the tiredness and nausea will soon pass so I can get back to being myself... and so I can start working on the baby's room (which... gasp!.. is my scrap room... I have to give up my scrap room! Aargh! Not sure what's more painful- labour or giving up my space! LOL!)

Anyway, enough about all that. I am sure to go on enough about my baby over the next 7 months so I won't exhaust you all at once in this post!

On the weekend, my Mum came across this amazing project which is being co-ordinated to help the people affected by the bushfires in Victoria. Here's the info;

"To give families in the Victorian bush fire areas a personal way to say THANK YOU to those people that have helped them through this difficult time, we are asking all scrappers, paper crafters and card makers to lend a hand. We are asking you to make 10 thank you cards that will be packaged up and distributed to families in the bush fire areas so they can pass them onto anyone they want to thank. Your cards can be any design you wish but should feature the words THANK YOU and if possible, left blank inside for a personal note of thanks to be written. (Please provide an envelope too) You might also like to include a card from yourself for the recipient wishing them well and include it with your cards".

I am sure you will agree that this is a fantastic idea, and very easy to do. I am going to make my own batch of cards to send, and I hope that you will too.

If you do decide to do your bit to help those in need, please send your cards to;
JODI MANN
7 Bellevue Court
Boronia Vic 3155

Your cards should arrive no later than FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2009.

Well, that's it for today. Before you go, do check out my baby ticker in the sidebar... only 220 days to go!

WOOT!!!

The new Card Kit DT was announced today over on the Wicked Princesses blog... and guess what??? I am one of the three to be chosen! Woot!!! I am over-the-moon-excited to have been selected to be a part of the team at Wicked Princesses... I simply cannot wait to get stuck into their fantastic new monthly Card Kits! My position officially begins on March 1st, so check back then to see what I have created using my first kit.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Tanya Tahir and Krissy Christie who were also selected to join the Wicked Princesses Card Kit DT. Do pop over to the blog to the announcement post to see their gorgeous submissions. I look forward to working with these two over the next 6 months, as well as all the other very talented ladies already on the team.

CPS 100th Sketch Competition

To celebrate their 100th sketch and their 2nd birthday, Card Positioning Systems are currently holding a competition whereby entrants must create their best card using the CPS contest sketch (CPS#100). Two Grand Prize winners will be chosen by Tanya Fox, editor of CardMaker magazine, and their cards will be published in the September 2009 issue of Cardmaker magazine. How cool is that?! Even better still, each winner will also receive a copy of CardMaker’s Sketchbook- Birthday Celebration and Say it with Style both from DRG Publishers. Worth a try, hey?!

This is what the 1ooth sketch looks like;

And this is my take;

I have used heavily distressed Coordinations cardstock as a base, cream notepaper, and pp from Bo Bunny (cream polka dot) and Basic Grey (pink). To mimic the diagonal piece running centrally across the sketch I have used a length of light brown Rusty Pickle ribbon across the card base, then layered a MME die-cut sentiment over the top. This die-cut resembles the larger of the three squares on the original sketch, and the K&Co die-cut butterflies (taken from the Amy Butler Lotus Tea Box Die-Cut Cardstock Ephemera set) resemble the remaining two. To finish, I added a bow of the same Rusty Pickle ribbon used for the background to the main die-cut.

This card also forms part of my application for the Wicked Princesses Card Kit Design Team, which I sent away about half an hour ago. I will find out next week someime if I have made the cut... fingers crossed!!!

If you too would like to celebrate with CPS, check out the contest details here. You only have until midnight Saturday 7th February to get your entry in. Goodluck!

OMG... Two Posts in a Week!

I am determined to redeem myself after my terrible performance of late by keeping on top of updating The Cat's Paper Pyjamas... one post a month is so not cool!!!

So... here it is... post number two for the week!

As promised, I am back with the 'almost-completed-but-not-quite-embellished' LO I said I had been working on. After spending $30 on an assortment of potential embellishments (don't tell DH... he'll freak!) I finally finished my LO late last night. It's a fairly simple design, but I a really happy with how it turned out. Here it is;

This LO documents our dog's first swim at the beach, when he was just a puppy. I know this sounds just terrible, but I don't particularly like our dog - it's not his fault... he is a border collie x kelpie which makes for a very jumpy, barky dog. He drives me around the bend to no end!!! But DH has been besotted with Sam since he first lay eyes on him. That is why I felt it important to create this LO so DH's memories are documented as well as those of my daughter and I. The best thing is... I know he is grateful for the LOs I create for him!

I have a few projects planned for the coming weeks. I am currently putting together my submission for the Wicked Princesses' Card Making DT. I love love love making cards and having the opportunity to play with their gorgeous kits month after month to make my cards would be a dream come true. I also plan to take part in CPS's 100th sketch competition and (hopefully) do this month's Puzzle Sketches competition. Busy busy busy... and I shall be back!

Let's Just Pretend!!!

Today I recieved an email from my good friend Sandie Mallon with a link to my own blog... you know, just in case I'd forgotten it existed! Well I followed the link, and guess what I found? A poor, neglected blog! Thanks for the butt-kicking Sandie!!!

Ok... so I haven't made a single post all year! Hmm. Kinda embaressing! Sorry!!! I have had my reasons (busy; sick; celebrating the new year, my birthday, and a wedding; work; and... well you get the point!) but that's no excuse... so let's just pretend I've been a good blogger and that none of this ever happened!!!

All good? Good!

So... I have blown the losing weight and saving money resolutions that I made this new year- I'm not surprised... some habits are just SO hard to break! But I have done pretty well sticking to my scrapping resolution... I have done 4 layouts in the past 4 weeks. Seeing as I resolved to doing just one every fortnight, I am actually doing twice as well as I had planned!!! Yay me!

Having said that, I actually only have one of these projects to share. One I have not had a chance to photograh (it's at work), one still needs a couple more embellishments (which are proving to be elusive!), and the other must remain a secret (for now, anyway). So that leaves this LO; Sweet Dreams.

This page is a scraplift of a LO done by Elizabeth Kartchner. OMG her work rocks!!! Do check it out if you get a chance.

Well, that's it for now. I'll be back once I find those perfect embies for the page I've nearly done.

Have a good week!!!
