I Can Hardly Believe It!!!

I scrapped... and not just one layout... TWO!!! What is even more amazing is that the photo used on the first page was only taken last Tuesday! Crazy crazy times! Quite an achievement on my part! Both pages still need journalling but my printer is out of ink so it'll have to wait. In the meantime, I wanted to share my creations as they are...

Tree Girl
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Alphas - American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin, Stickers - October Afternoon, Embroidery thread - DMC, Buttons - craft supply, Paint - Making Memories, Punches - Fiskars, WRMK.

The title for this layout was inspired by the guy in Thornlie, WA who spent a few months up a tree to protest against it being chopped down. You might have seen him on the news. He was dubbed Tree Man, so I decided to call Tilly Tree Girl when she joined Daddy and Pop in the huge tree out front of our house on Tuesday. DH had to climb up it to trim some branches because Western Power sent us a letter saying it was growing too close to the power lines. SO glad he didn't die... he had about a 20 metre fall if he lost his footing, but he seriously would have preferred that to paying a ridiculous amount to have a professional do it! He's such a tight arse! LOL!!!

Duck Ducks
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Alphas - American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin, Stickers - October Afternoon, Rub-ons - October Afternoon, Duck image (cut from a Wild Card) - October Afternoon, Brown machine thread - craft supply, Masking tape - craft supply.

I took this pic in Kalgoorlie at Hammond Park when Ollie and I visited there back in March. He adored the ducks - he watched them so intently. I amm really happy with how this page turned out, especially the hand-cut scallop. I've never hand-cut a scallop before. I am a bit anal and prefer things to be above board and as close to perfect as possible! But it actually looks kinda fun on a layout like this.

I probably won't get a chance to jump onto the computer tomorrow so I'll take this opportunity to wish all you Mums and Mums-to-be a very happy Mother's Day! I hope you have a lovely day!

I'm very lucky because my Mother's Day started early this year. DH decided that cos I have two kids I should have two days worth of Mother's Day! Plus, he always has to work on Mother's Day so I generally miss out on the whole breakfast-in-bed-thing. But not this year!!! Today I woke, after a sleep in, to a yummy omelette for breakfast. Then DH took Tilly to the shops so she could choose me a gift... I got a copy of Who magazine (not a magazine I usually read but she really wanted to get it for me which makes it very special!) in a pretty black and white bag with pretty pink ribbon that Tilly also chose. Later on, when Ollie woke up, I got a card with a kitten on the front that both my kids had 'written' in and a few scratchies from Ollie. I have a few Slice Design cards and a set of Nestabilities on their way from America for my 'real' Mother's Day present, but the ones I received today mean so much more! Tilly and James have wished me a happy Mother's Day about a million times today too. I am so lucky!!!

Tomorrow, we're off to the zoo as we have done every year for Mother's Day. It's free for Mum's and under 4's so we'll be have a really fun day... for freeeeee!!! We'll also be visiting my Mum and my MIL at some stage, too. I have them both the BEST presents!!! Should be a great day!

Well, that's it for today. Happy Mother's Day and happy scrapping!

Isn't that so cute about the Who magazine. Could you please speak to your father about James' idea, cos that means I should get 3 days, LOL.
Can't wait to see you all tomorrow :)
