Queen Bee!

I have just completed a set of ten cards using the Queen Bee collection from Pink Paislee. I needed to add stock to my card stash so I made these cards using a variety of sentiments covering everything from new babies to wedding days to birthdays!!! Here's my cards;

Queen Bee Card Set
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Pink Paislee, Die-cuts - Pink Paislee, Rhinestones - Kaiser, Rub-ons - Making Memories.

Can you believe Christmas is just over a week away?!! I am exceptionally organised this year which is surprising given I'm also single-handedly organising our wedding in January. All the presents have been bought AND wrapped (excluding my Dad's... please does anyone have any ideas???), cards are made and written in and sent, and the Christmas photos have been taken. So I've got a stress free week ahead!

Wel, that's it from me cos Ollie has just woken up and is calling for his Mama!

Have a fabulous weekend!

P.S. How's this for cute?!

P.P.S. And look at my sweet ballerina!!!

TTDOC Dec 3!

As part of Scrapz' 12 Days of Christmas challenge, I made this bookmark. I have been reading ALOT lately so it has proved very useful so far. At the moment I am reading New Moon. I am jumping on the bandwagon just a little late, which is evidenced by the fact I've been able to loan my copy from the library!, but really glad I got a chance to read them. Great books and an excellent story! Anyway, here's my bookmark;

I am rying to get a few more 12 Days challenges done but am currently swapped in wedding preparations. See how I go!

Have a great day!

The Twelve Days of Christmas!

The fun has begun at Scrapz with the challenge and prizes for days 1 and 2 having been announced. For day one, Sheree asked us to make a gift tag, and today Deb challenged us to create a Christmas-themed thank you card.

I made my gift tag using products from the new Making Memories Noel collection plus some twine and a Kaiser tag. How cool are the Kaiser tags?! I have to get the coordinating stamp set I think. I love tags too much to pass it up!

Joy Tag
Tag - Kaiser, Patterned paper - Making Memories, Felt flower - Making Memories, Brad - Making Memories, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Glimmer spray - unknown.

I went with a 'thanks for my present' angle for the Christmas-themed thank you card;

Cardstock - Stampin' Up!, Bazzill, Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket, Chipboard - Cosmo Cricket, Paint - Making Memories, Tag - Kaiser, Rub-on - Making Memories, Embroidery thread - DMC.

I am looking forward to tomorrow's challenge! TTDOC is SO fun!!! You should join in if you get the chance!

Thanks for dropping by!

Scrapz.Giving 2010!

I only managed to complete one challenge in the Scrapz.Giving competition at Scrapz this time round but I had fun all the same! I did Sheree's flower challenge, using my flower to make a thank you card. Here it is;

I am eagerly anticipating the next comp at Scrapz which begins tomorrow. It's my fave comp of all - The 12 Days of Christmas! Shall be fun!!! And I'm sure to have lots to share as a result!

Have a great day!

Four More!!!

As expected, I chatted up a storm today with the ladies at the Scrap Attack, but I still managed to create 4 cards. I kinda cheated cos three of the four cards are the same design, but they round out my Christmas card stash for 2010... yep, my cards are made BEFORE December! They may even be written out and posted before December, too... that would be a world record for me!!! Anyway, here's my cards;

Merry Christmas Card Trio
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Making Memories, Holly embellishments - Making Memories, Fonts - Edwardian Script, Elegance.

You're Ace Card
Cardstock - Bazzil, Patterned paper - Crate Paper, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Font - DilleniaUPC.

The ladies were all 'oohing' and 'ahhing' over the Christmas cards I made, but in reality they were really easy to create. I printed the sentiments out on the computer before I headed out to the crop and the rest was just a matter of cutting and sticking. These'd be great for a production line style of card if you have left your festive cardmaking to the last minute like I normally do.

The other card is a Father's Day-type card or a just because card for Dad. It didn't really turn out how I imagined but my Dad doesn't like the responsibility of overly intricate cards so I think this'll be perfect for him!

That's it for me for a few days I think. I need to rest my mojo! LOL!

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a fantastic weekend!

A Layout? What's That Again?!!

I realised the other day that it has been quite some time since I scrapped a layout. I've been cranking out the cards while my poor photos have sat there feeling neglected. Well I figured it was time to make amends and have been working on this layout for the last couple of days (yes, even my simple layouts take FOREVER!);

Pure Bliss Layout
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Alphas - October Afternoon, Rub-on - October Afternoon, Stickers - October Afternoon, Buttons - craft supply, Embroidery thread - DMC, Punch - EK Success.

Today I am off to my LSS to scrap with my friends whom I haven't seen for a few weeks. Aside from lots of chatter, I hope to make a card or two which I'll share here soon.

Til then, happy hump day and take care!

Another Quick Share!

Last night I created this gift card holder;

Wedding Gift Card Holder
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Sticker - October Afternoon, Rub-ons - October AFternoon, Basic Grey, Ribbon - unknown, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Flower - Prima, Brad - Making Memories, Pearls - Kaiser, Tag - Bumble Bee Crafts.

It uses a length of gorgeous ribbon that I received the other day from Heike at Scrapz as part of my prize for being a winner in the weekly challenge last week. It is so pretty!!!

I added a little tag to the holder part that is embellished and which serves as a place to write your congratulatory message.

Speaking of weddings, mine is coming along nicely. Almost all organised, though no doubt I'll think of more things I need to get done! My best friend is currently organising my hen's night. I am racked with fear!!! LOL!

Have a great day!

P.S. I need sleep! LOL!

Invitations... Tick!!!

As promised I am back to share my wedding invitations that I recently hand-made. Now that Mum has received hers I can post the invite here;

I purchased the bottles, boxes, and fill from All Bottled Up, the paper from Starfish Lane, and the embellishments from Etsy.

The wedding will have a seaside theme hence the 'message in a bottle' style invite. All I can say is lucky we only had to send out 7 invites cos these cost an arm and a leg... plus some!!! But they are so beautiful and totally perfect and unlikely to be forgotten any time soon so I reckon they're worth every cent!

I hope you like them too!

Have a great day!

Jingle Scraps Challenge #7

Each week leading up to Christmas a new challenge is being set over at Scrapz.Biz as part of Jingle Scrapz. This week's challenge was to create a card using Sheree's awesome sketch. Here's what I made;

December Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket, Die-cut - Jillibean Soup, Sticker - Making Memories, Flower - Green Tara, Twine - Papertrey Ink.

You should see Sheree's example card... A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!

The fam's been busy too! James made croissants yesterday (well actually it took 3 days with all the kneading and resting etc);

... Ollie's been trying to be a bad ass having taken to wearing a chain around his neck! Somehow he just doesn't quite pull it off;

... and Miss Tilly has befriended just about every snail inhabiting our backyard. These two were tiny little baby snails that she (and I!) thought were particularly cute;

Well, that's it for today - have a great weekend!

It's Raining! It's Pouring!!!

I love nothing more than a drizzly day! This time last week it was 36 degrees and I felt so sad because I was sure winter was over, but it seems to be back for a last hurrah today. I love it!!!

Anyway, I'm not posting to chat about the weather, but rather to share a couple of projects I've completed today...

First up is my take on this week's Jingle Scraps weekly challenge over at Scrapz. It has been donkey's since I've had a chance to participate in the weekly challenges, but I simply had to make time this week when Kerryn challenged us to create one of Mel's Surprise Boxes with a pop-up inside. Here's mine;

My pop-out looks a little boring but it is intended as a spot to write a message to the recipient - kind of like a card but in box form!

Here's the box with it's lid on;

I also whipped up this quick card using the Mitten Weather collection from Cosmo Cricket, my #1 Christmas range for 2010;

Falala Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket, Alphas - Basic Grey, Bling - Zva Creative, Foam adhesive.

I think this will be Tilly's Christmas card for this year.

Lastly, I'd like to share another of my 'slap-together' cards that I made after my post the other day;

I cannot share them yet because my Mum reads my blog and she hasn't yet received hers, but today I finished making my wedding invitations!!! I am so happy with how they turned out! I cannot wait to hand them out to our guests! I'll share them here once I've done so.

I think that's everything covered! Thanks for dropping by!

I'll leave you with this irresistably gorgeous pic of Ollie that I took the other day - he was helping me clean up after I did some baking. Doesn't get much cuter than this!!!

Have a great evening xxx

Me Again!!!

I'm back for post #2 of the day. I go from not posting for a couple of months to posting twice in one day... I really should try being a little more consistent!!!

I whipped another 5 Christmas cards this afternoon. They were VERY quick and some used VERY old product that I've had since I started cardmaking a few years back.

Here they are;

Obviously none of them are standout cards but they are done and that is the main thing for me right now. I'm another 5 cards closer to being Christmas-ready!

All Wrapped Up!

Just a quick share this morning - last night I created this little pillow box using some die-cuts that I think were made sometime in the stone age;

Merry Christmas Pillow Box
Die-cuts - My Mind's Eye, Doily - Little Yellow Bicycle, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Buttons - craft supply, Embroidery thread - DMC.

It will make the perfect packaging for some jewellry or other small gift for someone on my Christmas list this year.

I hope it has inspired you.

Thanks for dropping by!

Only 7 Weeks Until...

Christmas!!! Crazy isn't it?! When I realised this I thought it about time to get started on my Christmas cards for this year. I think I originally planned to start sometime a few months ago but making a start in November is probably a record for me. Usually I leave it to the very last minute. Even more surprising still is that I've got off to a flying start, having had a very productive day creating 10 Christmas cards. Here they are;

I've accumulated a lot of Christmas product over the last few years, so for these cards, my aim was to create quickly and using as much old product as possible. Aside from some twine, buttons and bling, everything was stuff I already had, and I managed to create these 10 cards in less than a few hours while Ollie slept. At this rate I'll be set for Christmas AND a restock of my Christmas stash in no time!!! LOL!

Tomorrow I am competing in the Port to Port fun run being held in Fremantle tomorrow. I have entered into the 4km run. I have never participated in anything like it before but have always wanted to, an having worked on my fitness for the last few months I think I might just be able to do it. James is coming along for the run for a bit of moral support too. Hopefully neither of us pass out from exhaustion somewhere along the track! Wish me luck!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

To Share... and Not to Share!!!

Yesterday I attended the Club Members Scrap Attack at Just Scrapbooking. I had planned to work on my Christmas cards for this year but was instead distracted by one of the gorgeous new lines from WRMK, namely Funfetti. Lou had been working on a set of cards using the range and I decided to follow suit.

The bad news is that I cannot share my cards, as I just received word that they have been picked up for pub. Seems I'll have to wait a bit longer before I can finally add some more birthday cards to my stash. Why is it I never seem to make enough birthday cards?!

I can share this layout, however, which was my entry into this year's Melbourne Cup Flutter over at Scrapz;

Dressed to Kill Layout
Cardstock - Coordinations, Patterned paper - Pink Paislee, Die-cuts - Pink Paislee, Alphas - Basic Grey, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Ribbon - household supply (taken from clothing).

I plan to alter this page slightly as I had to rush to get it finished in time for the Cup. Just a bit more embellishing and some journalling is all it needs, I think.

Anyway, I hope you are having a wonderful day! Thanks for dropping by my blog!

Copic Comeback!!!

After about 6 weeks of doing practically nothing in terms of scrapping or cardmaking... oh and practically nothing in terms of blogging too in case you didn't notice (LOL!)... I am back!

Too much has happened in the last 6 weeks for me to recap here, so I just won't bother. Instead, I'll share with you what I got up to yesterday...

Yesterday I took a class at Starfish Lane, which is a cute stationary shop in North Perth. I have long known about this store but never actually visited until recently when I set about prchasing the bits and pieces for my wedding stationary (only 12 weeks til our big day!). While I was there I got their timetable and was excited to see that they were running a basic Copic class called A Very Copic Christmas. I had wanted to jump on the Copic bandwagon for a while but had no idea how to use them. In just a few hours, with the help of my very helpful teacher, I managed to learn the art of colouring with Copics and created this adorable Christmas card;

And this was my first attempt using Copics;

This afternoon I raided Just Scrapbooking and picked up 17 markers and a Memento pad. I cannot wait to crack them open and get colouring!!! I am totally hooked!

If anyone knows of any good Copic sited, please share them with me. I have a lot to learn!!!

Well, that's it for me for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Finally!!!

You know that layout I keep promising... well I am FINALLY posting it to share! Here it is;

Family Layout
Patterned paper - Crate Paper, Die-cut - Crate Paper, Stickers - Crate Paper, Masking tape - craft supply, Pen - Sharpie.

Not sure the anticipation lives up to the layout. It's only a relatively simple design, but it's another photo scrapped so that's the main thing! This pic was taken on James' last day at his old work. All the family gathered there for breakfast as a little send off of sorts.

I must say that it has been a while since I've been so excited about a Crate Paper line, but this collection, the Restoration collection, is absolutely gorgeous and I have really enjoyed working with it so far. I think it's the Kraft undertones that do it for me!

I have another project to share. Ollie's First Birthday card. Yep, you read that right. Ollie is turning one. Tomorrow. A whole year passed in the blink of an eye. It feels like just yesterday that I bought home my sweet little newborn baby boy. Ollie is a real little boy now, so full of charm, and love, and laughter. He's one. I seriously cannot believe it, moreso that I survived as a mother of two (LOL!), but also that he has grown so fast!

Anyway, I best share the card before I waffle on too much! LOL!

Happy Birthday Ollie Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - Making Memories, Alphas - American Crafts, Die-cuts - Making Memories, Chipboard - Making Memories, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Machine thread - craft supply, Font - unknown.

Given that we are going to the zoo tomorrow to celebrate Ollie's special day I decided to use Animal Crackers for Ollie's card. It is my favourite ever collection and so perfect for my little man.

Speaking of Ollie, I can hear him waking up, so I'm outta here! Thanks for dropping by! Will be back soon with lots of birthday photos!

At it Again!

I've been lacking moivation a bit lately. So rather than doing all the things I should have been doing the other night, I cleaned out my bookshelf instead. Does that happen to you too?! Anyway, the moral of the story is that I found quite a few books and magazines that no longer inspired me and have listed them on ebay. Happy Belated Father's Day!

Yesterday, although happy for some, was not so much for us... cos we had no Daddy to share it with. James flew out for his second swing on Thursday morning. We celebrated Father's Day on Wednesday with breakfast and presents, instead. I best get used it to it... I've already consulted the calendar to find that the only things he is here for over the next 12 months is Halloween and New Years. He's not even got time off for our wedding yet!!! Not sure I can get married on my own! LOL!

Anyway, I did have two Dads to spoil on Father's Day - my own and my Father-In-Law. For each of them I cooked some spiced mixed nuts and packaged them in a jar that was made to co-ordinate with their card;

Numbers Father's Day Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - LYB, Stamp - Unity, Ink - Tsukineko, Buttons - craft supply, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Font - Clarendon.

Stars Father's Day Card
Cardstock - Bazzill, Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Corner rounder - WRMK, Chipboard stars - Collections, Ink - Tsukineko, Buttons - craft supply, Twine - Papertrey Ink, Font - Clarendon.

My Dad in particlar loved the nuts... he wolfed down half the jar during the Carlton vs Swans game!!!

Mum and I dabbled in a bit of papercrafting while the boys watched the footy. Earlier in the week I had given in to the fact I was not going to have the time to come up with an entry for this week's Scrap That Ad challenge, but Ollie slept really well during our little crafting session and I actually managed to whip up a quick layout for the challenge! Mum helped me by taking an impromptu photo for the page, which had to include a framme (or billboard). Here's my take;

Like I said, it was just a quick layout, nothing super special, but I was just so happy to have not missed a challenge!

I have another layout that I begun on Sunday and have almost completed, so I'll be back shortly to share it.

Until then, happy scrapping!
