We're On the Road Again!!!

At sparrow's fart tomorrow morning, James, Tilly, bump, and I will be heading off on a road trippin' holiday across Australia and back again! We are first going to Brisbane where I will be going to the Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention and Expo for 3 days of serious scrapping and retail therapy. Next we will head south to Melbourne for the Saints and Eagles games (OMG... so can't wait to see my Nick!!!), and then it's back home. Of course, we'll be stopping at lots of places along the way, including as many of Australia's famous Big Things as we can handle. All up, the trip should take about a month.

I am really looking forward to the break away from everyday life... work, bills, housework, etc. I am in serious need of a rest, some me time, and a bit of pregnancy pampering. It is going to be so nice to have no to-dos other than eating and sleeping. Bliss!!!

If anyone else I know from blogland is visiting the Convention, have a great time and I hope to see you there! Everyone else, I'll 'see' you when I get back to reality and update you with all the sights, scrapping projects, and Big Thing pics I have collected along the road!

Til then, happy scrapping... and don't miss me too much!!! LOL!

Just a Quick Share!

I am totally exhausted after working again at the Fiskars stand at the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair today, so this will only be a short post. I might just curl up in bed with my DS for a bit before dinner.

The next 7 Deadly Sins challenge has been announced over at the Wicked Princesses blog. This week's theme is Greed, and the criteria are;

  • Black, white, and yellow
  • Stamping
  • Use a journalling spot as an embellishment
  • Best wishes-themed card

    Here's my example;

    This is a 4.5 inch square card made using Scenic Route patterned paper, Basic Grey and Pink Paislee rub-ons, a Stampin' Up! butterfly stamp, a Heidi Swapp journalling spot, and Carolee's alphas.

    Thanks for popping by! Do leave a comment - I love hearing your thoughts!

    Fiskars Fun and May DT Cards!

    I had an awesome day yesterday... I was part of the Fiskars Team demonstrating and teaching at the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair! Here are a couple of pics taken on the day;

    Left to right; Elie, Pip, Evana, Kim, Me, and Maursie down at the front... all looking VERY orange!

    As you can see, we all had a great time, as did the ladies who stopped by to create their own card and address book using products and tools from Fiskars!

    I can't wait to get back there tomorrow for my second day at the booth. Do pop by and say hello if you get the chance!

    If you need any more info, just check by the Fiskars blog.

    In other news, today is Reveal Day over at WIcked Princesses! This month, I was lucky enough to work with the May Card Kit, which is packed full of bright and funky patterned paper, stickers, embellishments, and stamps from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey collection. It was heaps of fun working with this kit... here's what I came up with;

    Instructions for the first two cards will be up on the blog soon.

    Well, that's it for today. I'll be back tomorrow evening with my example for the next Wicked Princesses' 7 Deadly Sins challenge.

    Another Card to Share!!!

    Today saw the new challenge for Wicked Princesses added to their blog... it's all about everyone's favourite sin... SLOTH!!! I'm definitely guilty of this one from time to time!!! Nothing better than my quilt and a magazine to waste away the hours!

    The criteria for the bonus card challeneg are;
    1. monochromatic light blue colour scheme
    2. one handmade embellishment
    3. stitching
    4. bon voyage or retirement-themed sentiment

    This is my example;

    This has to be one of my fave cards of late. I really like how all the different shades of blue came together, and how perfectly the handmade flower embellie co-ordinates. I'm also right into hand-stitching atm... it's so relaxing.

    Well that's it for today. Just a quick post.

    I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow! Tomorrow morning I am heading to the zoo with DD and bump for a lazy day looking at all the animals. Should be lots of fun!!!

    20 Weeks Today!

    I am officially half-way through my second pregnancy!!! So far, time has flown by in a whirlwind of nauseus mornings, tiring afternoons, and all-day backaches, but I am pleased to say that everything is now looking up and feeling great! I can hardly believe I am already half-way... it only seems like yesterday that I read that positive pregnancy test!!!

    Last Wednesday we had the routine 19-week ultrasound. As far as could be seen, bub is growing well and looks healthy! The sonographer had a terribly hard time taking the required measurements because bub kept thrashing around... this bub is usually quite inactive... I think it just hates being poked and prodded!!!

    We decided against finding out the sex of the baby. My partner had wanted to, but eventually came round. We found out with our first child, so I thought it might be nice to do things differently this time and leave the announcement until the big day. We just had to stare at the walls while the sonographer looked at bub's legs, just in case it was obvious. I am looking forward to the midwife saying "It's a..." Everyone is so far convinced I am having a boy. I'm not sure if that's just because I already have a girl or because they can actually tell. Me... well I have no idea! I knew quite early on first time round, but right now I am confused between the little voice in my head saying its a girl and the general consensus that it's a boy. Only time will tell I guess!

    Unfortunately, we only got a few paper photos this time round so I have no pics of bub to share. However, I do have some belly pics to share!!!

    Given today marks the half-way point of my pregnancy, I asked DH to take a few photographs of me down by the Swan River. I think he did a great job. Here's a few of my faves;

    And one of my daughter (just because she's cute!);

    In scrapping news, I haven't scrapped for weeks! I did manage to make 11 cards on the weekend... 10 for a class that I will be teaching at Just Scrapbooking's Retreat in August, and one for Week 3's 7 Deadly Sins Wrath challenge at Wicked Princesses. This week's criteria were;

    1. black, white and red
    2. paint/ink effects
    3. tearing/distressing
    4. sorry-themed

    Here's my take;

    Well, I think that's about it for me for now.

    Before I go, I just want to congratulate another of my online friends, Tatum Woodroffe, on the safe arrival of her beautiful daughter, Jasmine Michelle. Jasmine was born on the 20th of April, weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces. Do pop by
    Tatum's blog to congratulate her if you get the chance!
